Greece City States

We are continuing to learn about ancient Greece. This week we will be learning about daily life in ancient Greece. This will include Food, Farming, Trade and Homes. We will also be assigning our Greek Festival Projects to be turned in and presented at the end of the unit. I am excited about this unit and the things we will learn about Greece in the next week or two. The weather is going to be pretty nice this week, we should be able to be outside for recess. Spring is getting close and so is the end of third quarter.

Wrapping up China

We are currently working on a brochure about an ancient Chinese invention. The brochure is due Friday in class, and we will have all day Thursday to finish it up. I will be handing out a study guide Friday and we will have our final test over China next Tuesday, February 7th. I have really enjoyed this unit and I think the students have as well. Mid quarter grades will be coming out next week, they are not permanent grades just an update so everyone knows what their grades look like. There will be a Valentines party February 14th at 3:00. If you are interested in helping out with that you should be hearing from our homeroom mom before too long. I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the weather will stay like it is. I could get used to this.

ABC Book

We have been working on the ABC book of ancient Egypt for a couple of weeks now. It is going to be due on Friday, November 18. That gives us two full weeks to finish it. We will then have a test on that next Tuesday,  over ancient Egypt. I am excited to see the finished products and I know everyone is working hard to finish them up. Remember be as neat as possible, and write legibly. Only two and a half weeks until thanksgiving break, the year is flying by.

November is here

I can’t believe November is here already. I feel like the school year just started. I enjoyed meeting with all of my students parents last week. I have a really good class. We are still in the middle of the Egypt unit. We learned about ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs today in class. Tomorrow the students will be writing their names in hieroglyphics. Students are still working on our ABC book of ancient Egypt. I am excited to see the final products of those books.
